A7 envelopes are commonly used for Save the Date and Invitation announcements.  The size is 5.25 x 7.25, and are highly suitable for sending thank you cards, greeting cards, wedding announcements, formal invitations, photos and more! There are 3 popular varieties of A7 envelopes.  The standard A-7 contain a unique square flap which can be addressed and conveniently used by mechanical inserting machines to insert and seal save the date cards or greeting cards inside the envelope, which can save hours on hand stuffing and sealing.  A second type of A-7 envelope has a small “V” shape flap that extends to the middle of the envelope, and is called a Lee (Bar) envelope.  A third type has the flap extending to the end of the envelope with an elegant contoured “V” shape flap known as a “Euro Flap.”  These envelopes are available in a vast array of colors and finishes that can be used for any occasion.

• Invitation Envelopes
  A-7 envelopes come with glue tabs which seals the invitation and others have the options of being “un-gummed” where there’s no glue strips to seal it.  This is designed for the convenience of having an envelope that holds the invitation and RSVP information separately from the outside mailing envelope.
  A-7 Invitation envelopes have many options for finishing.  Foil stamping, Spot UV and five color printing enable colors to print on a colored envelope.  This is done by placing white toner as a base during the full color printing. This increases the options of what can be printed on the envelope.  Without this white base, colors would blend into the color of the envelope and make the printing image almost illegible.  Conveniently, high quality text and images can be printed on the envelope in stunning resolution without incurring separate printing or binding costs.
• A-7 Paper Weights:
  There are numerous paper weights for A-7 “Save the date” envelopes, especially if envelope converting (custom die cutting, folding and gluing to create a custom envelope) is performed.  The basic paper weight is 24# stock.  However, for save the date invitation envelopes and wedding announcements it’s advisable for envelopes with weights of 60#, 70# or even 80# envelopes should be used.  These envelopes are stunning in appearance and offer more options than 24# versions.  Additionally, if the enclosure is a wedding invitation or save the date card, they will keep their form better through the addressing and mailing process.
